EAGLEBANK BOWL PARTNERS WITH FIVE AREA MARRIOTT HOTELS

Marriott Hotels designated Official Hotel for game

(Washington, DC) – The EagleBank Bowl is proud to announce they have entered into a partnership agreement with the Washington, DC Area Marriott Hotels for the inaugural EagleBank Bowl which takes place Saturday, December 20 at RFK Stadium. The announcement was made by Marie Rudolph, Founder of the EagleBank Bowl.

“The JW Marriott Hotel Washington DC is a premier hotel in the heart of our nation’s capital and it will serve as the headquarters for media and bowl officials,” said Rudolph. “The DC Renaissance Hotel, Renaissance M Street Hotel, Renaissance Mayflower Hotel and Washington Marriott are the other four properties and we could not be happier. They will provide our players, administrators, sponsors and fans with a wonderful window into our city.”

“Marriott is pleased to act as the 2008 host hotel for the EagleBank Bowl and delighted to be part of their inaugural event,” said Mark Indre, Director of Public Relations for Marriott.  “We look forward to this partnership and the opportunity to welcome a new sporting event to Washington. The fact that Navy looks to be a part of it only makes it more special.”

The deal is unique in that the EagleBank Bowl could make significant money based on the overall success of the game, which will ultimately benefit the charities. In addition to rooms, Marriott will put financial resources towards a series of team receptions and luncheons.

“We are very happy to have Marriott join us in our inaugural year,” said Sean Metcalf, Founder of the EagleBank Bowl. “These are the types of relationships that will help us grow this into one of the premiere events in the area.”

EAGLEBANK BOWL
The DC Bowl Committee, Inc. was formed as a community and charitable organization to host the first-ever NCAA-sanctioned, post-season bowl game in Washington, DC. On September 10, 2008 the dream became a reality when the EagleBank Bowl officially became a part of the D.C. sports and entertainment landscape. While the DC Bowl Committee brought the game to the region there are two other entities that are valued contributors in making this game a marquee event. The DC Sports and Entertainment Commission has been a valued partner from the very beginning. When EagleBank signed on as a title sponsor it gave the game instant credibility particularly in the business community. The game kicks off the 2008 bowl season on Saturday, December 20, at RFK Stadium live on ESPN.  The goals for bringing the game to Washington include boosting the regional economy, putting the nation’s capital on the map as a college football destination and to raise money for several local charities.
